For safety reasons, visitors are not permitted to eat or drink in the exhibition rooms, or to take in large bags, backpacks, umbrellas or items of luggage larger than A4 size. Tate may occasionally offer combined tickets for certain exhibitions at the same gallery. Yes — all exhibition tickets are timed with half hour time slots to enter. With busy exhibitions Tate will enforce the timed entry on the tickets. You will not be able to enter before the time on your ticket.
You are welcome to stay in an exhibition for as long as you need within gallery hours. We suggest you allow one to two hours to see most exhibitions. Once you leave the exhibition re-admission is not permitted. Last entry for all exhibitions is normally one hour before the gallery closes. Are there guided tours in exhibitions available? Yes — normally for major exhibitions only. These will be on specific days and times, and are an additional cost on top of your ticket.

For some exhibitions these are also available as a downloadable app from iTunes or Google Play. Contact us for further details. Buying exhibition tickets in advance How can I book in advance? Tickets can be booked online and by tel on the day of your visit if there is availability. Book in advance to save: Selected exhibitions have a cheaper advance price booked at least 24 hours in advanceand an on the day price.
What payment cards does Tate accept? It is recommended for popular exhibitions to book your tickets as soon as possible. Advance availability often sells out a few days in advance, particularly for weekend timeslots and between 11am and 3pm during the week. If you do not book in advance a limited amount of tickets are available each day in the galleries, and for popular exhibitions these do sell out quickly.
Booking online, how do e-tickets work? If you book online you will recieve PDF e-tickets by email. When you book online you will receive a booking confirmation email, followed by an e-ticket email which contains a pdf document of your e-tickets.
These can be added to an e-wallet, left as a PDF email attachment, or printed. If you have booked Tate Collective tickets for year olds you will be required to show proof of age ID when tickets are scanned upon admission. If you book online you do not have the option to have tickets printed and posted or collected.
If you book more than 5 days in advance you will have the option to have your tickets posted to you UK address or for you to collect at our Ticket Collection desk. If you book less than 5 days in advance you will need to collect at the Ticket Collection desk in the gallery.
